When I was in my early 20’s, I lived life on the edge. Not metaphorically, either — shortly before my 23rd birthday, I found myself literally dangling from a cliff, swinging 200 feet in the air on a multi-pitch climbing route in Rocky Mountain National Park.
While I was clawing my way to the top, I thought about quitting approximately 5,000 times (and that’s a lowball estimate). But despite the brutal winds, high altitude, mental and physical fatigue, and unapologetic tears, I kept going. I’m that person. Once I say I’ll do something, it will happen.
My name is Kristyn… and now, I put that perseverance to work as a new mama and stepmom to 3 wild boys. I may not always get to climb mountains anymore…but I always have to move them.
